CONNECT SHARE GROW
2017 National Peer Conference Call for Abstract
Submission Due Date:  November 10th, 2017
Submission Notification:  December 1, 2017

For two days in May, peer supporters, non-profit leaders, health care providers, health system leaders, thinkers and innovators will connect and share ideas, research, promising practices, successful programs, and tools to grow and strengthen Peer Support.

Above all, we will leave the conference energized to grow Peer Support across Canada.

Connect with others in your field both during the two days, and at specially designed Communities of Practice Sessions.

Share ideas, research, promising practices, successful programs, and tools to grow and strengthen peer support.

Leave with inspiration, connects, resources and tools to grow peer support.

We encourage abstracts from Peer Supporters, (including Family Peer Supporters) and from those who identify as experiencing marginalization, including First Nations/Indigenous people, LGTBQ, newcomers, refugees and racialized individuals.

We invite abstracts in the following streams:

  • Building the Evidence Base: Research and Evaluation of Peer Support

  • Self-Care: Essential For All (Burnout, Self-Compassion, Workplace Supports, Encouraging and Enabling Self-Care For All)

  • Working Together: Collaboration, Managing Conflict, Creating and Sustaining Partnerships and More

  • Innovative and Effective Peer Support Programs

  • Peer Support 2.0: Deepening Our Skills

We encourage abstracts from peer supports, (including family peer supporters) and from radicalized persons.

If you have an idea for a workshop but not sure where it fits, please contact Shaleen at shaleen at psac-canada.com

We are also interested in organizing Meet Ups to bring people together from various perspectives and interests, such as Family Peer Support, or Workplace Peer Support.

The Conference Planning Committee may also identify submissions for keynote plenary sessions.
