CMHA Alberta Working Stronger
2020 Call for Abstracts

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Alberta Division is hosting a conference in October 2020 designed to guide Alberta’s employers in building mentally healthy workplaces.

Working Stronger – Building the health of Alberta’s workforce is two days of networking, knowledge translation and conversation supporting healthier workplaces across the province. Each year, the conference brings together the most creative and inspiring mental health thinkers and leaders in the field to share their experiences and expertise.

Abstracts will be accepted until April 17th, 2020

Presenters will be notified if their abstracts have been accepted by May 4th, 2020

Presenters must agree to be paid registrants of the conference. Honoraria, accommodation and travel reimbursement are not available for presenters.

Conference sessions will be offered in a variety of formats:

• Panel discussions

• Panel presentations

• Solo presentations (30-60-90 minutes)

• Poster Presentations

Notes: 

Poster Presentations: Display space for Poster Presentations will be offered on the poster board. You are welcome to bring additional flyers/support documentation for handouts.

This year, posters will be in a convenient and high traffic location at the conference.  Your display will be set up for both days.  Poster presenters will be asked to be present during breaks and lunch.  Posters are 4" x 4" wide with 2 fitting on one board.  We will supply the poster board stand.  We will provide push pins to attach your poster to the board. 

Please note: Based on the number of presentations we receive, we may have to combine presentations. If your abstract is not accepted, you may have an opportunity to present a poster presentation.

The presenter may submit multiple abstracts for the conference. One submission for each presentation. If your abstract is accepted, we will reach out for your full abstract and your AV/Tech needs.

Please Note:
All submissions will be evaluated using the following criteria:

• Relevance to the conference theme
• Clarity and coherence of the submission
• Contribution of knowledge, expertise or best practices
• Relevance and utility to participants
• Evidence that submission will encourage interaction among conference participants
• Key points of presentation and evidence of ‘participant take-away’.

Acceptance as a Presenter:
Please note: Presenters must be paid registrants. Honoraria and travel reimbursement are not available. Presenters will receive a discount on registration fees paying $350.00.

An electronic version of the presentation must be submitted to the event manager shortly before the conference for posting to the CMHA Alberta website and to pre-load at the conference.

Presenters will be provided with a designated time to present by the conference committee.
